Major Extensions & Refurbishment – Barham, Kent
This extensive renovation and extension project in Barham transformed an existing property into a contemporary, high-performance family home. The works comprised substantial structural alterations, major extensions, and a complete internal and external refurbishment, delivering exceptional living spaces finished to the highest standard.
A striking zinc-clad dormer extension was constructed to maximise accommodation within the roof space, complemented by a composite slate roof system and contemporary external cladding and rendered finishes. A new balcony and covered veranda were incorporated to enhance the connection between the home and its surrounding landscape while creating additional outdoor living areas.
Internally, the property was completely remodelled with luxury finishes throughout. High-end bathrooms featuring premium Rain shower systems and designer sanitaryware were installed, while luxury LVT flooring was laid throughout the home to provide a seamless and durable finish.
The project also focused heavily on sustainability and energy efficiency. A new Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) system was installed alongside a solar PV array, significantly reducing the property’s energy consumption and future running costs. A dedicated plant room was created to house the new mechanical systems while also serving the existing swimming pool infrastructure, ensuring efficient management of both domestic and leisure facilities.
Additional works included the installation of a Sika flat roofing system to various roof areas, bespoke external finishes, and comprehensive internal refurbishment works throughout the property.
The completed project successfully combines modern architecture, luxury living, and sustainable technologies, resulting in a high-specification home designed for contemporary family life.
